Hello Blog, hello peeps, hello cuties.
I'm finally back from my 5d4n OBS camp! I really enjoyed myself there.
My group is Marco Polo. There are 16 of us, and we bonded really well, from not knowing each other, not talking at all till the last day when we bonded really well.
We pitched the tent together, we cook together, we play concentration together, we always stick together as a group.
Our group motto; One for all, All for one.
Day1 When I arrived at school at 7am, we had short briefing with Mr Shashi at the foryer and waited for the bus to send us to punggol.
Had a long journey to punggol and fell asleep while we're on the way there.
When we reached there, We got into our group and then not long ago, there's another briefing.
Then we walked to the jetty there and waited for our ferry to arrive.
While waiting, we started talking to each other, planning who's the Day IC, Time IC, Environment IC, Water Ceremony IC, Logistics IC, Food IC.
We only have 5 guys in our group, so the 5 guys became our Day IC(s).
Not long later, we arrived at Pulau Ubin and from then, our journey starts! :)
We had small rope activities and a activity to test our trust of the team mates. I find it very meaningful.
Then we prepared our bags for the next few days and then we learnt to pitch up tents too!
Me and Huey2 shared a bag and it's like very very very extremely heavy -.-
in the end we still have to carry that big bag around, tsk.
Not long later, we went to bathe and prepared to sleep.
--
Day2We woke up early in the morning and had our morning exercises to get ourselves ready.
Morning exercise was fun, Marco Polo and Shakleton played together and we get to know each other too!
After morning exercises we had our first ever breakfast together.
Our food for most of the meals is either bread or biscuits, hahahhaa.
Please tell me I've slimmed down, Lmao. After breakfast, we started our high elements!
I didn't manage to climb up as I really don't dare to climb up, the rock wall is difficult to climb.
After high elements, we started practicing for Kayaking!! (L)
I super love kayaking even though i'm really really really lousy at it.
My precious partner for kayaking is Ee Siong (siongsiong!!) and both of us is not good at kayaking -.-
We didn't know how to U-Turn lohhh!! Damn ps. And when we practicin capsize, we took uber long to get up to our kayak again, what a failure lahzsxzsx.
After Practice, it's the real paddling session already.
We had to paddle from Campsite 2 to Campsite 1, a 800m distance, it's not too bad anyway.
When we reached the campsite, it's already 5+, and we had to pitch our tent and shower by 7pm if i'm not wrong. When we pitched up our tents, it's already 6.45++ and all of us were pissed.
Got so fed up that the guys scolded vulgarities even when a instructor walk pass us,
the instructor said: boy, please mind your language. Lmao.
After that, we had Powder Bath and changed into our clean clothes, went to meet our instructor at 7pm+.
We told instructor we didn't have time to bathe at all, cos we were pitching our tent,
so we went to canteen and had our dinner, finally a good one :) Instuctor had some small activities, like you share food with your opposite partner, you have to feed each other with 1 kind of food.
And infront of me were Kahbeng, I fed him RICE while he fed me CABBAGE. Hahahaha.
I'm so evil, then we changed our utensils without others knowing, hahahhaha.
After eating, we went to look for instructor and he gave us 15 mins to bathe!
Everyone rushed to the toilet and then get ourselves cleaned up.
I rinsed and bathe myself cos I'm getting rashes already! Omg. I feel so uncomfortable. );
After bathing, short briefing and off to sleep. Sleeping in tent is one bad thing, but yet a new experience.
My tent have 4 girls, we get into our dreamland not long later, hehehhee.

Day3We had to kayak all the way from Campsite 1 till a Campsite (?) where it is a 15km distance away plus it's against the current which means you need alot more energy.
It seems fun at the beginning but it turned out super tiring at the back.
Ee Siong and I is always the last so I had to paddle super uber hard to be able to make the kayak move, while Ee Siong didn't really have the energy
Normally guys sit at the back seat while girls infront, but we turned out to be the opposite, cos Ee Siong didn't know how to swim, haha.
Then on the sea, there's people doing small businesses and we even had our lunch together on the sea, hahaha, It seems so funny yet it's fun.
We reached the place in 7hours+ and then the first thing we did is pitch up our tents and some of the girls did the cooking of dinner.
I helped out by picking up rocks for the tent, how kind of me!!! :D
Dinner-ed with Fuad, the stupid joker. We had instant noodle with curry chicken for dinner.
I ate only 1/4 and threw all to fuad, he was stunned o.o hahahahaha.
Then he still managed to finish it.
This day, we can't bathe and the toilet is uber smelly plus the water is BROWN in colour, how to survive D:
The toilet is like 5min walk away from our campsite. Powder Bath ourselves and met up with our instructor.
Our instructor brought us to the Pulau Ubin village and also the Jetty there.
We sat there for our briefing and reflections. It's really a new experience.
The night breeze is really cooling but all of us are having seasick @.@
Went to have our sleep not long later, and my tent have to wake up at 5.45am for century guarding or something idk.
--
Day4 Today, we woke up at 5.15am and we packed our tents and prepared our bags for the long distance hiking.
Had our breakfast together, and I realise i got quite alot of mosquitoe bites ):
Then we had small activities with the other 3 groups; Livingstone, Shakleton and (?)
After that, our Land Expedition starts! We had to throw pebbles to our right side and everyone must catch it for all 3 rounds, if 1 person never catch it it will return back to zero, and all of us did it!!!! :D
We started walking with our super uber heavy bagpacks! I'm perservering!!!
It's damn tiring and I really felt like giving up! But there's no way you can back out.
On the way, I'm walking and struggling and get angry, and lots and lots of emotion.
But it's a very new experience for me cos I didn't expect myself to have walk so so so much of a distance.
Walking on the riding pathway, it seems to be like a never ending road,
we walked and walked, we struggled, we encouraged each other, some even cried, we felt uncomfortable, we helped each other carry our water bottles, we massage for each other,
even though we came in last, but all these is a very good process, it's not about the product, it's about the process.
When we reached our campsite 2, there were people cheering for us, I'm really touched.
We sat down and had some rest, we massaged for each other again, heh heh.
I super love my team mates lah!!!! Then instructor gave us briefing and then we have to clear out our bags and prepare our own bags 8D
Washed the bottles, clear up the storerooms, and Ivy was having headache and fever!
We took care of her too :) Then me, jingmin, huey2, fengling and fuad went to pitch up the tents.
It took us really long to pitch it up! and the tents are extremely stinky, gosh.
Pitched up and had our dinner. While waiting for our rice to be cooked, we played concentration!
Our group's game :p One of the instructor came to Kpo when we played and we kept picking on the guys! We made the guys out, hahahhaa. In the end all the guys had to do forfeit, Lmao.
Then they did the sexy dance, LALALA. The night was fun!! Uber fun.
Then, we bathe and had small meeting with KM.
Not long later, we went to have our sleep, I love Marco Polo.
Day5The very last day, the very last breakfast we're having together.
KM made us tie our hand with each other and eat our breakfast, if we wanna throw rubbish, we also have to walk together, wash hand also must be tied together, everything we do must be together!
After we finished our breakfast, washed up then we can remove it, hahaha.
At that time, we're super bonded, I love Marco Polo.
Had to clean our tents, wash our floor mat, and helping each other, everything was well organised.
Then after everything is done, we had to wash the girls' toilet! there's pads, hair, rubberband, and lots of disgusting stuffs.
I felt so freakingly disgusted but no choice, we still have to do it.
I picked up the rubbish and helped to flush the toilet bowls, bring in water to the toilet and things like that.
It was really fun to clean a toilet with 15 other people, including the guys, hahahaha.
We did it all in 15 min, thats considered fast, and our instructor is proud of us :)
Had some heart to heart talk, and I cried, Huey2 cried, Charlotte cried, Jingmin cried, Fengling cried, and we promised to go to seoul garden together next time!
I really hope that we could meet up as a team again.
If there's a chance for me to go to OBS, with the same old teammates, I will say, I'm willing to go again, for the teamwork, for the team spirit, and for our so bonded together kind of spirit.
I'm proud to say, I'm part of Marco Polo, and we're one for all, all for one.
There's something about OBS that stays with you for life. back to the top
